Sheraton Hotels & Resorts has opened Sheraton Port Moresby Stanley Hotel & Suites, marking the brand’s debut in Papua New Guinea. The opening also expands Marriott International’s presence in the Pacific region.
Sheraton Port Moresby Stanley Hotel & Suites features 394 accommodation units in Port Moresby’s central business and government district. The hotel is located five minutes from Jackson International Airport and is connected directly to Vision City Mega Mall.
The property represents Marriott International’s second hotel in Papua New Guinea. In addition, it introduces Sheraton’s latest design concept, which focuses on social spaces, technology and guest connection.
The hotel offers 284 guestrooms, 15 suites and 95 apartments. The apartments include living areas, kitchens and dining spaces for extended stays and family travel.
Moreover, the rooms and suites feature Sheraton’s contemporary design approach. The spaces combine practical layouts with technology-enabled features for business and leisure travellers.
Sheraton Port Moresby Stanley Hotel & Suites provides more than 2,500 square metres of meeting and event space. The facilities include Papua New Guinea’s largest ballroom.
Therefore, the hotel can support conferences, corporate meetings and social events. It also provides event planning services and technology solutions for organisers.
The hotel includes several dining and social venues for guests and local visitors. Silverleaf offers à la carte dining with seafood and meat dishes prepared using a Josper grill.
Meanwhile, Greenhaus provides all-day dining with buffet options, live cooking stations, artisan breads and New Guinea coffee. Guests can also enjoy themed dining experiences.
Additionally, Sheraton combines coffee, market-style offerings and bar experiences in the lobby. Monsoon Bar & Lounge and Pool Bar & Café complete the dining options.
The property also features wellness facilities. These include an infinity swimming pool, Sheraton Fitness and a full-service day spa.
Sheraton Port Moresby Stanley Hotel & Suites is located near commercial, cultural and sporting attractions. The hotel also stands opposite the Papua New Guinea Football Stadium.
As a result, guests have access to shopping, dining and entertainment options in the city. The location supports both business travel and leisure stays.
